On Drums Mr. Emerson Laffey

Emerson Laffey is a professional drummer and multi-percussionist hailing from Phoenix, AZ.   He began playing drums over 20 years ago and later studied with Dom Moio at Arizona State University where he earned his BA in Music.

Over the years Emerson has performed with highly talented bands and artists such as the CPR Orchestra, Mosaico, Sy Smith, Gustavo Angeles,  Quetzal Guerrero, Novo Mundo, and many more. Currently,  Emerson is playing in a multitude of bands ranging in styles from gospel, R&B, jazz, salsa, rock, and flamenco.  He is currently the percussionist with Flamenco Por La Vida,  Flamenco de Leon,  and Chis Burton Jacome Flamenco Ensemble. His salsa and Brazillian projects include Conclave, Ritmo Latino, Jazz con Alma, Grupo Liberdade, the Samba Project, Marcos Crego and the Latin Union, Zona Libre, and Think Horses to name a few.  He is the drummer for the New Wrecking Crew with Shea Marshall, performing cutting edge jazz explorations at Eddie V’s every Sunday night.

Emerson’s professional goal is to continue to explore and expand within this amazing musical world.
